Abstract
El nevo mucinoso (NM) es una rara tumoración que corresponde a una forma rara de mucinosis cutánea. Puede ser congénito o adquirido. Tiene un carácter nevoide e histológicamente posee depósito de mucina en la dermis papilar. Se produce como resultado de un proceso metabólico primario (sobreproducción de mucina), en lugar de un proceso catabólico secundario. Clínicamente se presenta como placas marrones o pardas, lineales o agrupadas, verrucosas, usualmente localizadas en tronco. No es necesario su tratamiento, aunque en caso necesario podría ser quirúrgico o por láser ablativo. Se reporta el caso de un paciente masculino de 36 años con NM, quien presentaba una lesión tipo placa irregular de aproximadamente 20 cm, color piel, con varias pápulas de 1 cm de diámetro en su interior; asintomática, localizada en la zona lumbar derecha de diez años de evolución.
