Cyberbullying en el entorno universitario en la escuela de medicina de una universidad privada, Guayaquil

Introducción: el cyberbullying es una forma de violencia entre pares mediada por la tecnología cuya presencia en la educación superior permanece escasamente documentada, en especial en carreras de alta exigencia académica como Medicina. Objetivo: describir la prevalencia, los factores de riesgo percibidos y las consecuencias psicológicas y académicas del cyberbullying entre estudiantes de sexto ciclo de la Escuela de Medicina de una universidad privada de Guayaquil, durante el semestre A-2026. Métodos: estudio observacional, descriptivo y analítico de corte transversal. Se aplicó un cuestionario estructurado, autoaplicado y anónimo a una muestra por conveniencia de 46 estudiantes. Resultados: la prevalencia de cyberbullying fue del 17,4% (8/46); el escenario más frecuente fueron los grupos académicos digitales, por delante de las redes sociales personales. La alta carga académica y la competencia entre estudiantes fueron los factores de riesgo percibidos con mayor respaldo, mientras que el estrés académico (72%) y la depresión (33%) constituyeron las consecuencias psicológicas más señaladas. No se hallaron asociaciones estadísticamente significativas entre la victimización y estas variables, lo que se atribuye al tamaño muestral. Conclusión: el cyberbullying constituye una problemática real, aunque parcialmente invisibilizada, en la formación médica universitaria, con implicaciones para la salud mental de los futuros profesionales de la salud y con vacíos institucionales evidentes en su prevención y manejo.
