Municipal Market Design in the sector of Flor de Bastión as a focal point of socio-economic development

Introduction: the marginalized sectors of a city are places with high potential for growth, which are considered spaces for public investment by the Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD), where the persistence of unsatisfied needs (basic services) can be observed in the urban development of a city. Materials and methods: This descriptive, qualitative, transversal study trade center in the city of Guayaquil. Results: between the interviews, observation sheets and plans it was found the requirements for the construction and its location according to the demand, being observed a concentration of municipal markets in the urban area of the city in comparison with the suburbs (marginal sectors). Conclusion: this study attempts to satisfy the unsatisfied needs of the analysed sector, by proposing a new architectural design, for the construction of a municipal market by the GAD of Guayaquil, in order to improve the lack of these spaces in the city.
